Setting a New Foundation

In my previous blog, I touched on what is required of us now.  It’s clear that we need to look at what is causing the anger, racism, hatred, resentment, revenge, etc. It’s easy to look at what’s wrong with the world and point the finger, but how does it play out in our daily life? 

It’s time to build a new foundation -  or allow a new way of being to emerge - but first, we must remove the old. Over the past few months, we became aware of what needed to change or what was not working in our lives; the first stage is done.

To move forward with what we are now aware of, we must understand what created the feelings and behaviours – what was making us hold on to them and how they served us – only then can we change OURSELVES. Imagine if we collectively do our internal work and transform ourselves!?! We will all show up with more compassion, love, respect and peace. This is what is needed right now in the world and this new foundation depends on us collectively doing our part.

If you’re done being on the sideline and are ready to be part of the change that needs to happen in the world, here are questions for you to start exploring the cause of the destruction or breaking down we are experiencing, whether it’s individually or societally. 

Take the time to really reflect on these questions. It might be hard to admit the truth, but it’s necessary. It’s only with honesty that true change can happen. Here are the questions for you to reflect on:

  • Where (or towards what or who) do you carry resentment, anger, revenge, feeling of superiority, racism?
  • What is making you hold onto those feelings?
  • How is carrying those feelings serving you?
  • How long have you been living with these feelings?
  • What are they tied to in your life?
  • What or who do you blame in your life?
  • How is this serving you?
  • What would it mean to let go of it all?
  • What do you need to make peace with, in order to let go?
  • What would it take to allow more joy in your life?
  • What is the one step you can take today to move towards more happiness in your life?

I strongly encourage you to do this work and really take these questions to heart. We all have these emotions at different degrees. Take the time to be truly honest with yourself and explore without judgment. The world needs YOU now and this is how you can collectively have a big impact. The only way to step into new ways of being is by changing ourselves. We must heal our old wounds and release the emotions tied to them. 

You might need guidance while exploring these questions. Find someone who has the expertise to properly guide you. The important thing is that you do your part in setting a new foundation for this world. If we all work to find inner peace, love and freedom, we can all get to the same place and create something magical.
